Happy New Year!!

It’s 2009 and DyVrse is off to a great start. This past Thursday we celebrated Chinese New Year. It’s the year of the Ox and those born under the Ox’s sign are said to be stable, fearless, obstinate, hard working and well-respected. Oh, and friendly! We feasted on Chinese noodles (symbolizing longevity) then made some candy sushi for dessert. We also made yei-see which are small red envelopes that you place a penny in and give it to someone else so that they will have prosperity for the new year. It was AWESOME!!! Devon picked our next book, Alanna by Tamora Pierce. See you next week!!
