Books for WHAT??

DyVrse is planning on doing some interesting things with some old/damaged books this winter. After much thought and consideration, we’ve decided to experiment with altered books making scrapbooks, art books, lampshades, and even book purses. It’s raining book pages but it’s fun! This week and last week’s meetings have been art related. We’re getting ready for Santa’s Workshops, which we’re participating in with the children’s program. Bring your family and friends for a fun-filled day! And for those focusing on our book topics (not the recycled books!) our current read is “Gallows Hill” by Lois Duncan. Hope you have a great week and we’ll see you at the next meeting!

The Big Bad Wolf Unleashed…

The Big Bad Wolf… he’s not vicious just misunderstood. Or so it was portrayed in the skit DyVrse members did for the Prime Time program. Last Thursday three of our members drove over to the regional library to put on a skit for several Hispanic families in a program called Prime Time. The skit went well with Little Red Riding Hood, the librarian interviewer, and the Big Bad Wolf who was dressed in a pink nightgown, fluffy pink slippers, a wolf mask, and a shower cap. Thanks again Kelvin for your brave deeds. The skit went well and our members came back to DyVrse Headquarters to find a Halloween Party in full motion. Everyone left happy and full of junk food. And on that note, I’m pleased to release the next book of our DyVrse meeting… “Gallows Hill” by Lois Duncan. In the spirit of Halloween, this book is sure to bring a shiver to anyone’s spine. Don’t miss this supernatural thriller about a high school girl who’s present is looking alot like the past.
