This week’s meeting was a blast! We had two new members (Welcome guys!) and learned how to cook up an inexpensive and delicious treat (sandwich wraps with all the trimmings). We also talked about everything under the sun starting with our topic book…”The Gospel According to Larry”. DyVrse members were all amazed at how alike and different they were from Larry and each other. We hope to see everyone next Thursday! Everyone’s welcome to come.
This week at the DyVrse meeting, we discussed our YA area’s decorations and planned a little into the future. Our current book topic is “The Gospel According to Larry” by Janet Tashjian. The story is about a “seventeen-year-old Josh, a loner-philosopher who wants to make a difference in the world, tries to maintain his secret identity as the author of a web site that is receiving national attention” (Barnes & Noble.com). In the way of decorations, we’ve added some of our own art to the mix. Looks great, guys! A huge welcome to our new members. We had a great time with you and we hope to see you next Thursday!
Once again, we had a great time at the DyVrse meeting last night. Since the last T.A.G. (Teen Advisory Group) meeting on Tuesday, we’ve been focusing on spicing up the YA area with our own artwork. Having said that, it won’t come as a surprise to anyone that yesterday we got stuck in paint up to our elbows (or at the very least our wrists!). The results…masterpieces and artistic chaos! But we had fun doing it and Picasso would be proud! Our next DyVrse meeting is on Sept. 11th, 2008. Please feel free to join up with the group and have fun. Everyone’s welcome!
